Les Franges

"The very special aspect of Anne-Cecile as a global conceiver, is the capacity to construct a whole scenographic world adapted to the space that needs to be transformed, always with an original starting point, that involves the expertise in textile but also the understanding of space, design of objects and transformation of furniture.” Cédric Riffaud.

The space to be transformed had served so many purposes over the years that the Genevans stopped noticing the beauty in its details, like the grand mural or the stained glass windows.

The main art direction was therefore based on the idea of reinterpreting existing details of the place and distributing them in a way that would allow them to be seen with new eyes, and to celebrate the forgotten beauty of this antiquated venue.

In tribute to the art-deco style of its early years of activity (the building was constructed in 1909-1910) we also designed and produced enormous fringe hanging lamps, giving a certain theatricality to the installation.

The garments for the staff were Kimôhs designed and produced for the occasion, in accordance with the general art-direction and the selection of fabrics used in the interior design.
